So what does one do at 10:45 p.m. when the children are asleep and there's no ice-cream in the house?
Well if this lovely trio can be found after a recent excursion to the wilderness, then I'd say one had better make S'mores!
1) Warm trio over low heat, and under glass cover, until soft and goo-ey.
2) Transfer marshmallow's and gharam cracker's to a broiler, and keep a mindful watch until golden brown.
3) Meld, and admire.
4) Indulge ones self, after all, you are The Mother!

Your photo montage brought a big smile to my face. Mmmm-mmmm.
What a great montage!
I commend your ability to wait it out for the stove! I totally microwave mine when I am on a s'mores crush!
Man those looked good. And now I will add all 3 to my shopping list.
I loved all the pictures too... and the browning, how perfect. YOu have tallents girl!
Genius! Will be adding all three ingredients to the shopping list today. Love the montage, too.
Yum! Thanks for the visit, I am going to add you to my favorites.
Except, now I have the trolly song in my head.
Those look much more authentic than the microwave ones I desperately make.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Those look wonderful! I need to get me some s'mores!
Smores are the unsung hero of the sweet-treat world. I'm jealous!
I've never seen a s'more prepared that way. Delicious recipe. :)
Aren't you good and safe. We 'que up the marshmallow over the hot stove top!
S'mores have to be the ultimate sin! Oh how I do love me a s'more or ten! Yum! Love the broiler idea.
Oh, yeah, I've been there...well, basically every night. I need a little something sweet and now that I have two little ones and rarely get to eat anything all by myself, I also like to wait until they are asleep. They are wily little guys though.....the bigger one can recognize the crackle of the plastic coming off an ice cream bar and will instantly crib-hop to come and get his share.....so something can be prepared in a relatively more quiet manner is always a plus. Also, I LOVE chocolate.
Your anonymous cousin.
I am sooooo there!!!!!!!!
We like to microwave them just to see the marshmallow get huge!
We're camping this weekend so we'll have old-fashioned ones. I'll think of you!
I do the same thing, but in my toaster oven.
Thanks for the visit.
As for S'mores, I haven't had an authentic one since Boy Scouts...never mind how long ago that's been, though suffice it to say it 'twas before you were born ;) The authentic, campfire one is the only way to go.
A. I love the photo that is on your header. SOO funny.
B. There is ice cream in my house and it is your fault that I now need to eat it. :/
C. Thanks for visiting my site.
Um, yummy yummy! I haven't had a s'more in such a long time. Reminds me of my days at sleep away camp.
love s'mores, I consider it happy food
That looks good to me!
HA! Last night at the camp fire I was the first one to rip into the marshmallows and scoop a handful of caramel bites. The kids didn't even see it comin!
Came here from Hilary's blog. I'm a Dad of three and I'm paying heed to your advice!!
So THAT's what smores are! Finally I understand. Yum.
Thanks for checking out my blog, great to have you visiting 'down under' (even if just virtually).
Drool! It's been years since I've made smores. The microwave works well for them too.. except for that golden brown toasty yumminess. Like I said.. drool!
Yum Yum! Looks delicious!
Love the box with legs!
I am SOOOOO hungry now!!!
I microwave mine too! It's really fun to microwave the marshmallow, but watch it carefully or you might have a big mess on your hands! they ten to explode in the wave....Not what you want deal at 10:45 pm.
have you ever tried it with ginger snap! "Yummo" too! (Sorry had to throw a little Rachel Ray in the phrase...it's a cute phrase, right? !!
What a great idea! I usually wrap mine in foil and toast it in the oven - but sometimes the cracker burns... I LOVE smores. I have been known to hide the chocolate from my kids to save mine for night...
Thank you for your kind comment on the cancer piece I wrote at NJ Moms Blog. It's comforting to hear about others dealing with the same issues.
I love your blog - I've added you to my blog roll.
Se I always think of Smores of one of those things that is better left as a fanatsy - whenever I actually try to eat them I find thm quite gross...
Oh that looks absolutely scrumptious!!
I think I will. I won't be able to eat a different snack tonight once they are in bed.
I LOVE those, but I usually just do them in the microwave. I'll have to try it your way though, because the toasty marshmallows look much yummier.
Oh, I LOVE smores. Love them.
