Addendum: Since you're asking, yes, this is actually on my street! There were about a dozen more on my neighbors lawn, these were the ones I was herding.
There are so many in our area, that there's a turkey crossing sign on one of the nearby roads.

And as another reminder of what to be thankful for, Nicki over at Slow Down, Gym Shoe, is trying to make a difference for some kids who could really use our help. Pay her a visit, and see if there's anything you can do to help make a difference too. Thanks!

HA! Was this for real? Were they wild? (mouth drooling, where's the gravy?)
Thanks for the link! You're the best! I wonder where all of those turkeys are heading towards!!!
Is that in your area? Cool...
Turkey crossing? How strange! Man, I love me some turkey.
Okay, now I feel a little guilty about the turkey club I just ate for dinner. Thanks!
I'm putting you on notice. Breakfast is eggs and bacon tomorrow, so no pig or chicken pictures, please.
We will see an occasional wild turkey in our back yard. But they are always alone. That photo is incredible.
I have a photo of probably the smartest turkey in that flock (ask and ye shall receive) ;)
I'll drop by the other site and see what's up.
I know this is not in your neighborhood is it? How funny!
them is some ugly birds!
OK, I gotta ask like everyone else -- do you have turkeys running around your neighborhood? Why did the turkey cross the road?
Oh I love Fall and Thanksgiving. My favorite time of year.
We have those in our neighborhood too! Big suckers. They kind of fascinate/freak me out at the same time.
My husband and I HAVE to make wild turkey sounds (as we imagine they would sound) whenever we see a flock from our car or bikes. Try it: it's really really fun.
That is awesome!
We have them here too, and all the men want to, well, you know, shoot them. Momma and I have a rule that there is no shooting those turkey...
I have a post in the works to pass along that sweet award now I have regained internet abilities!
Wow, I thought sites like that only happened out in the country.
Drumsticks on parade. Who'da thunk it? :)
Turkeys? Weird. Did you grab one for dinner? We have peacocks in the next neighborhood over. I swear, wild peacocks. The saunter across the street at turtle speed and stop traffic. It's the weirdest thing to see.
I lurve me some turkey!
can you bring them for show and tell on Monday? thanks
Where's a sling shot when you need one?
Mmm, Turkey. Now I have my kid's preschool song stuck in my head, "A turkey is a funny bird, his head goes wobble, wooble... all he says is just one word- GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE..." Oh my.
PS- the pics of your kids are a scream- love the boxes and construction cones!
We've been invaded too. There's one that regularly hangs out on front porches, which looks hillarious -- like it just rang the doorbell and is waiting for someone to answer.
Oh my gosh! How funny! I hope they finding a hiding spot soon- they might become dinner! LOL!
We live in the woods and every one and then I see this too. They kind of scare me though. When they look at me, I know that they are thinking, you ate my cousin, I am faster and stronger than my cousin, I will hunt you down, Turkey Eater!
Its almost enough to make me give up turkey, almost but not quite. Bring on the bird, I am hungry.
Turkey crossing? Well, that's all I need. How awesome is that?
Thanks for stopping by. I shall go read back further on your blog!
HI! I tagged you for that meme going around... have you already done this one?
