The boys were in dance class and I was sitting in the waiting room visiting with one of the grandmothers. I glanced up at the t.v. monitor that allows us to spy on our dancers and saw Tizzy embracing the woman's granddaughter. At the time I didn't think much of it and we resumed our conversation.
After class, the children came out and started putting on their shoes. While pulling on his socks, Tizzy looked over at the little girl, then back at me and said, "Mama, I love her."
"Aha. I noticed you hugging her during class." I replied.
"Yes," he said dreamily.
His teacher looked up from her computer at the front desk and said, "Those two were having quite the lovefest. They were hugging and kissing... I finally had to break them up to keep them from distracting the rest of the class."
With that, the two stood up, met in the middle of the room and gently caressed each other's shoulders.
Head tilted to one side, she whispered sweetly into T's ear, "I really like you."
He leaned tenderly back toward her and replied, "I really like you too." and kissed her cheek.
At lunch that afternoon I said, "So, it seems that you and that little girl in class really like each other."
"Oh Mama." Tizzy cried, "I love her! – What's her name?"
"Her name is Gigi."
"Gigi." he repeated, "Mama, she had on a shirt that said LOVE."
"Apparently he's quite impressionable." Brad concluded when I was telling him about it later that day.
The following week when we arrived at class the grandmother pulled me aside.
"I have something funny to tell you." She said. "Last week, after class, Gigi's brother greeted her with a hug and a kiss. 'Oh, you don't have to do that.' Gigi told him. 'My boyfriend already hugged and kissed me today."

Oh, that's too cute. Young love, so new and exciting. If only he could remember her name...
and so it begins...
This is awesome! Pablo recently had the opposite response to his affections: the girl he hugged on in martial arts class left early! (I am hoping it wasn't because of his... attentions, but I am betting it was!) Go Tizzy!!!!
God love him! That's so sweet!
So this is what I have to look forward to...
Oh, wow, Tizzy is in love? With a girl who has "LOVE" on her shirt? What will hedo if she wears a different shirt next time?
Wow - he is quite the little Romeo.
I love the line "I LOVE HER... what's her name?"
Classic.
That is so cute! Gosh, if only love were that easy.
Aw, so cute! My 5yr old informed me the other day that he has three girlfriends. But only one of whom loves him.
Am I raising a player??
aaah, young love. PL had his first serious girlfriend at 6. I say serious because when she left Sydney to live in Russia PL was devastated saying "but I was going to marry her". I said "honey, it was always going to be a long shot falling in love with a Croatian national whose dad was only on secondment to Sydney".
At least that's all her shirt said...
ohmagawd.
such sweet faith.
Ha! Very, very adorable...I just hope he doesn't have to ask someone's name after declaring his love for them when he's older!
Oh my goodness, I love cute little boy love. It's so adorable and innocent!
I LOVE your kiddo stories...they literally make me laugh out loud!
LOL...puppy love. I vaguely remember it ;)
Can it get any cuter? It's funny that they were in love but didn't even know their names! Oh those details are so unimportant!
Darling. If only all it took were a shirt that said 'love' these days.
I'm going to get me a shirt that says MONEY on it.
I love young love.
Thank GOD my five year old girl still thinks kissing is YUCKY! Even in her princess movies. *whew* wonder how long I can hope for this to last?
