And He's Off!

Christmas 2007, Santa brought Tizzy a bike and Zip a tricycle. It seemed appropriate at the time as Zip would turn two the following week. What Santa didn't consider was that Zip would be pining for a big boy bike only six months later.
When Tizzy was little, my dad had brought a little red bike over that someone had given him from a job. It's chain kept falling off, so for a long time it sat in the garage. For the past year, I would frequently go out to the garage and find Zip sitting on the red bike pretending to ride. Sometimes he would go so far as to drag it out on our patio. The trike from Santa got very little action.
Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I asked my neighbor, who was working on his motorcycle, if he would take a look at it. In less than an hour, he had the little red bike up and running.
Now, every day, the first thing Zip says is, "Let's go for a ride on my bike!"

Adorable, I'm so glad your neighbor was able to easily fix the bike! Next thing you know, zip is going to be zipping off after your neighbor and his motorcycle!

How sweet! I have been considering buying my girl a trike but felt she was still a little too young. Maybe not.

So wonderful! We are trying to teach Jake to ride his two wheeler. There is nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishment when riding a bike!

Aw. Nothing's cuter. Ive been there when a couple of my nieces and nephews have learned. You know what they say: It's like riding a bike.....

Perseverance! And copious cuteness!

Oh, awesome!

My daughter was super on her tricycle. I have such fond memories of that, but our son just has no interest in the trike now that it's his for the pedaling. I wonder if he'd prefer a two-wheeler?

We have the same issue here. Juliette wanted nothing to do with the trike, she just wanted a big girl bike like her big siblings. I actually think the whole tricycle thing is overrated, especially the expensive Kettrikes. Getting them one of those little big kid bikes seems easier to pedal.

Thats so cute! My cousin Lion Cub is like that... he's almost 5 now, but he was wanting to ride a big kid bike by the time he was two! No bigwheels for him! I think he got his training wheels off when he was 3 or 4... and now he's learning how to skateboard!

Those photos are a perfect story. I'd frame them up just like you have them to remember this time.
