Me: ~ Whistling ~
Tizzy: Can you stop that singing please?
Me: You don’t like my singing?
Tizzy: No.
Me: Is it my singing or all singing you don’t like?
Tizzy: Just yours.
Me: Do you like your teacher’s singing?
Tizzy: Yes.
Me: I guess I’m not such a great singer then, huh?
Tizzy: No, you are not!

Is this what they mean when they say everyone is a critic!?
:)
heh. I get this from my son, too. He is clearly the most musically inclined of the family, so I take it to heart a bit too much. Rationally, I think he is just afraid I'm going to sing him off to sleep. It's one of my superpowers you know.
Thank goodness my daughter can't talk yet. No telling me my breath stinks or my singing sucks.
Jake doesn't seem to mind my singing. Maggie has to be in the right mood - sometimes she demands I sing along to the radio.
"No, YOU sing!"
Other times, "Don't sing, Mommy."
Out of the mouth of babes!
I was the same way with my parents...apparently I was born without a social filter! :)
Pfffft. I'd just sing louder.

Tough music critic ;)
little simon cowell there!
Hayden tells me this all the time. I just don't get it.
I made my husband PROMISE not to tell my kids how bad of a singer I really am but my son figured it out on his own. Sorry for your demotion to mute.
My kids say the same thing. Demoralising. My kids also tell me I can't dance.
He's ready for American Idol. Watch out Simon!
