Astonishing News

I went to pick the boys up at gym school and all the kids were getting very excited about Halloween.

"I'm going to be Darth Maul!"

"I'm going to be Darth Vader!!"

"We'll I'm going to be Batman!!!"

"What are you going to be?" They asked T n Z.

"We're going to be Doggies!"

"Really?! Doggies? I didn't know you could be DOGGIES!"

T&Z don't follow trends, I see. They know what they want.

And doggies are adorably cute and innocent. I love it.

Is that like the year that all of my friends dressed like hot witches and I dressed up like one of these: http://www.retrothing.com/2007/10/kooky-spooks-in.html ?

HAHA!

We have the cutest dog costume that ends up coming out when its either too cold, or someone doesn't make up their mind what they want to be. That same dog (dalmation) has been worn at least 4 times between both kids!

Jadon wants to be Indiana Jones ("without the gun 'cuz mom doesn't let me play with guns") and he wants Daschel to dress up like IJ as well!

OY! lo

Now for finding a dog costume...

which is near impossible. My kid is going as Underdog, his all time favorite superhero.

I found an Underdog shirt online, made him some ears out of felt and a headband (do you know how hard it is to find a plain wide black headband? very), bought him brown girls leggings (forget finding them in black), and made a cape out of a blue remnant I found at the fabric store.
I guess I'll color his nose black with a grease pencil.

Good luck!

Haven't they read the Halloween rulebook? Doggies are clearly sanctioned.

Excellent! I love the, "I didn't know you could be doggies!" comment. I remember many a home-made costume from my youth. Of course, I'm craft-challenged, so my kids don't expect anything of the kind!

I just love that they want to be doggies and not some tv inspired something or other. My 2.5 yos don't seem to get it at all. Not sure what they will be. Tornadoes, maybe?

How cute is that?!? I'd much rather see doggies than Darth Vader;)

That is so cute! I love that they are not buying into the whole character thing.

Jack wants to be a spy. He too is bucking the system.
