The Rabbits

Zip:

When I was a little boy, I was going around this path (brown line) so I could feed the rabbits.
They were very, very hungry.
Then I got some more carrots so I could feed the other rabbits. Then I got some more carrots and they were more hungry, so I got more carrots to feed the other rabbits.
Then I got some more carrots and feed the other rabbits...
( and on,
and on,
and on,
and on,
and on,
and on...)
Then I ate my own lunch.
I had sandwiches, carrots a pineapple and also wheat free pizza.
Then I feed the bears. I give them honey.
And that's what I did Mom. I give the bears honey.
Then I feed a kind of other animals.
I just feed the ducks and turtles.
Then I feed the monsters Mom.
Then I feed something else. I feed the sharks.
Then I feed the fish, and then I feeded all of the animals. That's the end.

Epilogue - These are the monsters... see with the sharp teeth? (Top jagged lines.)
When the monsters ate the rabbits, they were very, very sad.

Please Reach Out To The People Of Haiti

It's unimaginable what the people of Haiti are experiencing right now. If you're looking for ways to help, my friend of over 20 years, Mary Pierznik and her husband Bill, have an organization The Mangrove Fund that will get 100% of the proceeds directly to the Haitian people. Please do what you can, remembering that what seems like a small amount here will make a significant difference there.

At the Sound of the Tone, the Correct Time Will be... Beep!

Tizzy has become a tracker of time ever since he started his Advent Calendar last month.
At first I thought he was going to eat all of the chocolate in one day and then sadly watch as Zip opened his windows until the 24th, but, he actually took it very seriously and has been telling me the date ever since.
He has also gotten very interested in calling people on the phone. Today he called my mom:

"Hello. This is Tizzy. How are you?"
"Oh yes, and Happy New Year to you too."
"Oh YES! It was VERY fun!"
"Well, we went to Samracisco and we went up on the roof, but we could only see a couple of fireworks over the buildings, but it was very fun, and then we drank our drinks and stayed up very very late..."
"Oh no you silly!"

At this point I went in the other room to fold the clothes, but I could still hear the conversation unfolding from the other room:

"No, no you silly! Oh no!"
"No you SILLY!"
"Oh yes she is folding clothes."
"Oh yes, mom's and dad's are very helpful."
"I'm very helpful too. I'm a big boy and very helpful."

"Oh wait. Prisha. Oh dear. Can I call you back?"
"Oh yes, yes, I need to call you back."
"Hang on, just a minute. I'll call you back. I just have to change the calendar."
"Yes. This one says 2009."
"Hang on. I'm going to hang up and change the calendar to one that says 2010, and then I'll call you right back."

"Tizzy?" I call out. "Wait to change the calendar until after you finish your phone call!"

"Oh, Prisha?" He resumes, "My mom says I have to hang up the calendar that says 2010 on it after I finish talking to you."

He continues his conversation with a lot of "Oh no sillies," and "Oh that's quite all rights,"
and then he calls me to the phone.

About an hour later he needs her number again as he's forgotten something very important he needed to tell her.

He runs outside to tell me that the operator has told him to please hang up and try again.

I'm told that he called her once more when I was at the store because he'd forgotten to say goodbye after their last conversation.

Tonight, as I was emailing and reading other blogs I glanced up and noticed the calendar. The new one that says 2010.

Three X's and one large backwards S have blocked out the proceeding two months and two days that fill up the first four blocks in the calendar. January 3rd is ready to go. I have a feeling that "No you silly," I will not be at a loss for what day it is in 2010, for I have my time keeper, rearing to go.
