Tizzy: Is it possible to ask a question that you already know the answer to?
Brad: Yes. It’s called a rhetorical question.
Tizzy: Hmmm. One day I was in science class and Mrs. Pierce said, ‘Now class I don’t want any comments. If you want to ask a question you can raise your hand, but if you want to make a comment you must leave your hand down.’ Well, I wanted to make a comment about how bees waggle when they talk, so I raised my hand, and I asked her this question. ‘Do bees talk?’ and she said, ‘Yes. Bees do the waggle dance to communicate.’ So I got to make my comment, but it was really a question that I already knew the answer to.
